Empties #3

Another round of empties is here! I love reading blogposts about what people have finished using so that I can truly see what they thought of the product. It usually is quite informative, good for people like me who research a lot before buying the product. So here's my share of products that I have finished up recently!

Konjac Sponge
I got this in Hong Kong. This gentle sponge lathers up very quickly. When it dries, it becomes hard as rock! However, when you wet this with water, it increases in size, becoming very porous and soft. It is a very fun tool to wash your face with. It is really gentle so it does not scratch against your skin. It make cleansing fun and relaxing. It doesn't dry thoroughly after each use so I think that bacteria can easily build up in the sponge.

Kose Cleansing Oil
I have used this cleansing oil about 4 years ago. It is definitely thicker than the Shu Uemura cleansing oil., but it does get the job done. If you use it around the eyes area, it leaves an oily film that can blur your vision. Overall, I think it is a cheap alternative for the Shu Uemura cleansing oil. Definitely give this a try :)

Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam
I have been using this cleanser for about 1.5 years, alternating between this and the HadaLabo one. This was a nice cleanser that I used to ensure that my face is clean after removing my makeup. It does have a grimy texture due to the baking powder but it still lathers up nicely. I quite liked this and would recommend to people with oily or normal skin types.

HadaLabo Tamagohada AHA + BHA Daily Face Wash
I love this cleanser! Definitely one I can rely on time and time again. I talked about it in my Empties #1 and My Skincare Routine (will soon do an updated version). I love this stuff. This cream face wash cleanses my skin thoroughly and gently. It does remove most makeup, but I usually use this after I have removed my makeup with cleansing oil. I prefer this over the foaming version of the AHA + BHA face wash. Will repurchase again once I have finished up other cleansers.

Juju Aquamoist Moisture Lotion
You remember this lotion? It was featured in my Winter Essentials blog post. My second bottle of this hydrating fluid. Honestly, when I use it day by day, it seems to be a part of the routine. I did not notice any amazing and nourishing for the skin. However, whenever I do not use this for long periods of time, I find my skin dehydrated and dry! I realize the importance of having this liquidy lotion. So now, this has become staple in my skincare routine.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Treatment Lotion Pre-Essence
I bought this in Hong Kong at Manning's. This product is meant to be used after your toner, but before any essence or serum. It is supposed to keep your skin hydrated. The essence is rather thick and opaque. It has a slight fragrant scent that may not be suitable for sensitive skin. It absorbs into my skin quickly. I do think it did keep my skin more hydrated. However, I think I want something more natural and gentle for the skin.

Suisse Reborn Repair Eye Cream
This was a gift that I received when I was in Hong Kong. It is a very lightweight eye cream. It is great for those who want a general eye cream that is quick to absorb. I used this eye cream when I had no serious eye problems. The packaging is quite luxurious as it is a frosted glass bottle with a pump. I would probably not purchase another one because I did not find that the effects were worth its price.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
I have read rave reviews on MakeUpAlley so I thought I would give this a try. This eye cream is rather thick. But when you warm it up with fingers, it becomes a cream that can easily be absorbed by the eye area. I think this was a decent eye cream, but now that I have been living in the drier area, I find my fine lines are getting deeper. I think this is a good all around eye cream if you do not have major issues. However, this did not suffice for me. So back on the hunt for a HG eye cream!

Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter
This was an amazing product. I have never finished a body butter in my entire life, except for this one. I wished there were more scents besides coconut. The coconut scent was divine, and the product was quickly absorbed after smoothing it all over the skin. I lathered this on after I shower and it absorbed so quickly. I have not tried the body butter from The Body Shop so I am not sure how it compares. I used to think that body butters were thick and leave my skin greasy, but my experience with this body butter has been awesome! Highly recommend :)

Trader Joe's Lavender Scrub
As you can see, I am a huge fan of Trader Joe's body products. Trader Joe's has good body products at an affordable price. So when I saw this tub, I immediately grabbed it. Whenever I used this scrub, I felt very zen, thanks to the lovely lavender scent. The scrub did its job at removing my dry patches and nourishing my skin. However, it left my bathtub very slippery... So I don't think I would be repurchasing this. It was a good product, but the aftermath was not worth it.
